Richards of Cornwall - Quality Cornish Bulbs

History Our family has farmed in and around Hayle, Cornwall since the early 1900's. At that time we reared beef, milked cows and grew vegetables for both local and wholesale markets. Grandfather Richards started the business.

Our Farm

Our Farm is located in the district of Penwith in beautiful West Cornwall. The Farm is situated on the main A30 to Penzance at Hayle.

Carwin Farm has some of the finest soil in West Cornwall which is well suited to growing a wide range of fruit and vegetables.

Because of our mild winters in Cornwall the main crops of the farm are, Winter Cauliflowers, Winter Cabbages, Strawberries, Wheat & Barley & Daffodils for both cut flower and bulb production.

Since opening the shop we now grow a much wider range of superb fresh fruit and vegetables. The range that we are currently growing this year includes:

Flat Lettuce, Oak leaf Lettuce, Iceberg Lettuce, Tomatoes, Asparagus, Strawberries, Pumpkins, Squash(7 different types), Red Onions, White Onions, Shallots, Leeks, Parsnips, Carrots, Swede, Turnips, Cauliflower, Romenesco, Broccoli, Savoy, Spring Greens, Red Cabbage, White Cabbage, Sweetcorn, Brussel Sprouts.

We are members of The British Farm Assured Produce scheme and also a number of environmental advisory groups such as Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group(FWAG) and Linking the Environment & Farming(LEAF).

Cornwall is the largest grower of daffodils in the world and we are incredibly proud to be a part of that. We grow daffodils for both cut flowers which we harvest from January through to April and then sell the dry bulbs which we start lifting from July onwards. You can purchase our fabulous daffodils online from the Bulb Shopping page.

We hope that you enjoy our website and more importantly look forward to seeing you at our freindly family run Farm Shop.

Please feel free to contact us if we can help you.
